converstaion ONE
2 What is your view on where, and how, elderly people should live?In my opinion, I think elderly people should live under the care of their own children, in their own houses instead of being sent to elderly homes. One may ask why. The answer is simple, think about when you are a baby, helpless and crying, who was the one who fed and took care of you? Parents. When you are in Primary School, who was the one who send you to school? Who paid the school fees? Parents. When suffering from setbacks, it will also be parents that actually talk one through it, consoling and giving advises. For what the parents have done, it is like a obvious that the children, now grown to adults, should in turn take the responsibility of taking care of the parent. The elderly people should be treated with respect and care and perhaps be given priority. Sending them to elderly homes seems like a pushing of responsibility for the children.
However, there are always two sides on a coin. Some adults may be busy with their careers and have no time to take care of the eldery people, hence neglecting them. Being left a home alone, the elderly people will feel bored. Imagine oneself in an enclosed area with four walls staring back at one, this will be especially so for those who have difficulty in walking around, unable to go and meet their friends. This way, the elderly people would be very lonely and sending them to an elderly home will be a better option.
if you could design a special home for the elderly, what would it include?
If i could design a special home for the elderly, I would include a nice garden in front of the house. This could keep the elderly occupied, by watering the plants, so that the elderly would not get so bored at home. Also the special home must include all sorts of entertainment device as research has shown that elderly people playing games will actually exercise their brains so that they would not get senile at a younger age. Also, the stairs will have to have a special function of being able to transport wheelchair-bound elderly up. This will ease the movement of elderly people to the part of the house they want to go to. Overall, the special home will include devices that would allow convienience for the elderly people living inside.
should healthcare and nursing homes for the elderly be free of charge?
In my opinion, I think healthcare and nursing homes should be free of charge to a certain extent. This is because a free nursing home will generally mean more elderly people living there as many adults will claim that they are busy and just leave their parents there. Overtime, the nursing homes may not evfen be able to cope with the number of patients being sent in. However, considering those with financial problems and have no ability to take care of the elderly people, the nursing homes could be a better choice for the elderly people to receive better medical needs and attention. But if the cost of nursing homes is beyond the amount the person can pay, the elderly people would not be able to get the medical attention he/she needs. Therefore, healthcare and nursing homes should be free of charge to a certain extent so that those with financial difficulty could benefit from it.

PICTURE DISCUSSION ONE
This picture depicts the scene of some elderly people engaging in a game in a nursing home. One old lady had tossed a ball to a younger lady, who is probably the nurse in charge of that activity as she is dressed in a nurse uniform. I can see that it is scene of a nursing home because all the elderly pepole are dressed somewhat similar to one another. Most of them are wheelchair bound and they are also positioned in a circle and not scattered everywhere.
In the background is the scenery that is being viewed out from the windows of an enclosed area. The elderly people are positioned on a nicely tiled floor and there are lights and fans on the ceiling. One old lady is tossing the ball to the nurse . By looking at the fixed gaze on the ball, i can see that the other elderly people seemed engrossed in the game as well. There is another nurse half squatting on the floor, preparing to assist.
Perhaps these elderly people are parents of working people and are sent here by their children who might be unable to take care of them due to time constraint. These elderly people are placed in the same room and positioned in a circle. Perhaps it is the games time for the elderly people to excercise while having fun.
The bespectacled wheelchair bound old lady at the right hand corner of the picture seems to be enjoying the game. From her enthusiastic participation, she appears to be enjoying herself while the other elderly people are eagerly waiting for their turn.
Before this picture was taken, the elderly people were probably all just sent to the nursing home by their children before the children leave for work. This nursing home could be a neighnbourhood nursing home near residential areas so that adults can convieniently bring their parents to the nursing home in the morning when they leace for work and bring them home when they return. This way, adults can work with an ease of mind and not have to keep worrying about their parents being left alone at home. Also, elderly people may get bored being left at home alone, especially when they are wheelchair bound and walking around is a difficult thing to do. Going to a nursing home will allow elderly people to ineract with one another and the elderly people will not feel bored. This way, it is like a win-win situation for both the adults and their elderly parents.
If i were to give this picture a title, I would call it "Engrossed in a Game". If I were the elderly beside the one who had just tossed the ball, I would be thinking :"YES. IT IS FINALLY MY TURN!"

T2W24 Escalation of Disaster IV
Her husband's death left her
vulnerable and depressed and Jimmy had made sveral
entreaties to God, hoping their lives would turn for the better. He used to be a
bigot, intolerating anyone who thinks that his father was mean. It was a sudden intense moment when he
abhorred his father to leave them. Grabbing the photo frame with his family photo in it. He slammed it on the floor
contemptously.

T2 W23 Escalation of disaster III
Unwilling to
enunciate his living conditions to his
predagogue, Jimmy remained very silent on his last day of school. His
heterogeneous clique of friends were puzzled when the usually talkative him did not utter a single word. He hung his head low when he left school. However when he reached home, a more
catastrophic sight stunned him. His mother lay there, still on the floor, motionless. He can vividly rememver it has been approximately a
decade since her mother last fainted, but he did not know what to do..

T2 W22 Escalation of disaster II
He was in a terrible
plight, losing all his wealth. HE never knew his father had owed so much debts. Feeling like a
deluded fool, he
juxtaposed his two different living conditions: the huge mansion and a small house. Adding on was his mother's poor health that
incapicitated her from working all her life. Unable to
cope with his school fees, Jimmy had no choice but to drop out from school..

T1W10 music
Music has a
puissant effect on me as it will affect my mood depending on where I was and what I was listening to.
Maudlin songs would usually bring about thoughts and it gives a very calming effect. For those who are bad tempered and always on the verge of exploding could try listening to sedimental songs if they get annoyed at times. In a touching movie when a hero dies,
lugubrious music could cause one to break down in tears.
Disparate songs always give people a different feeling at all times. One might even feel his
vicissitudes being forgotten when one indulge in a light-hearted, joyous song.

T1W9 regret
Staring at the wedding photo hung on the wall, a feeling of
nostalgia came over her. It all started out very well, with the normal husband and wife romance, until he got addicted to gambling. He struck jackpot once, they had a
sumptous feast, he
underwrited the cost of an overseas holiday, he spent the money on everything. Afflicted with
megalomania, he tried again. The trigger of the jackpot, he pulled repeatedly. And soon,
profigate husband spent all his salary on gambling and alcohol.

T1W8 the lie part2
He was a wealthy banker ---
urbane and sophisticated --- and he was Jeanie's next target.
Myraid of faces were seen walking on the streets of the place she was supposed to strike. Scanning from face to face, it seemed like an
abortive attempt to search for the man. Just then two men walked past her, talking," I seriously do not think that Jim should not receive the most pay in the bank. He is like a
itinerant man who travels when he pleases, he just went on cruise without informing anyone... ..." Upon hearing so, Jeanie dragged her feet home and was no longer
romping. Her attempt has failed..

T1W7 the lie
Concocting many stories about how sick her mother was and how much she needed the money, Jeanie has gotten away with mant theft casesshe had
perpetrated. She had done it many times, so many times that she knew how to react in the
manifold situations. Also, several
gullible victims of hers actually sympathise with her and gave her some money. This time, she was up to another
hoax, and this time, she wanted more money...

T1W6 the babysitter
Taking a
cursory glance at the surroundings, the babysitter's glance laid on the refrigerator. As the
gregarious couple went to introduce themselves and make friends at the home-thrown party with a
coterie of people who met at a club. The girl made a
bee line for the refrigerator. Cooling air swept past her as the door opened.
The
altruistic couple saw her and went over with a cup of cocktail and some snacks,"How about some snacks?" The girl gave a shy smile.

T1W5 awaiting part V
She led a
nomadic existence, drifting from place to place, dragging the white dress on the streets. The incident earlier on had
precluded her from thinking through her senses.
Persevering on did not seem to work and everything felt numb. She recalled the fierce quarrel she had a few weeks back. He had hurled vile
epithets at her. Tears trickled down slowly, dripping off at the ends of her face.

T1W4 awaiting part IV
The bride ran out of the hall, feeling as though she had consumed a
lethal dose of poison. She felt hopeless. The scenario that has just happened just does not conform to the usual
stereotype of a blissful marriage.
Just then, it started raining. The rain sent everyone
scurrying for shelter, but the lady just continued walking, and walking. She had no idea where to go, and where she was heading, but she just walked. "HEY WOMAN, GET OUT OF MY WAY!" a
stentorian tone sounded, and the lady realised, she was in the middle of the road. The comments did not
nettle her, her mind was blank and it felt as though nothing mattered anymore.

A mood of shock
permeated the whole hall and it was obvious the bride was
repressing the urge to cry, wiping away the tears that rolled down. She casted an
incredulous look at the man as she
emmitted a loud cry. The drunk man,
incontrovertible to be oblivious to what he had done, continued yelling and raving to his hands madly in the air. It came to the
ultimate situation where, the lady herself announced the wedding being called off, in tears.

can one improve his/her english skills?
English skills are claimed by teachers to be the gist of studying english. It is essential in all english tests and assignments. But is it possible for someone to improve his/her english skills?
Improving our english skills starts from the basic, elementary part of english. It is possible for someone to improve his/her english skills, but it will be better one starts from young. When one is young, it is easier for the mindset of something to change. If determined to improve your own english skills, one should start early by reading the english newspapers, reading more library materials can help improve how one express his/her thoughts in proper english. Also, it would be of much help if one is in a space surrounded by people who speaks english frequently, it will help the child start "learning" from young.
However, most people tend to give up mid way due to the large amount of time needed, such as using your leisure time to look up for some library materials and also do large amounts of reading.
To sum up, improving one's english skills is possible, only if one persevere through, sacrificing his/her leisure time to do massive reading. As a saying goes, "practice makes perfect".
and i AM aware this is really really short. But i currently have no idea/inspirstion or whatsoever( is that a proper english word?) ^^

T1W2 awaiting part ll
Just as everyone thought the groom was not entering, a drunk man in
flamboyant clothes barged into the hall. At that moment, everything was silence until someone shouted: "It's the groom!" There was an instant
diatribe against the drunk man. Alcohol had weakened his
inhibitions, and he started blabbering and raving his hands in mid-air. The
timorous bride quickly went forward and tried to pull him away when he suddenly hollered: "Go away, you bitch! Do you think i want to marry you? I don't even like you, or any others of that
ilk!" The whole hall gasped while tears slowly welled up her eyes.
